Based in Chiang Mai, North Thailand, Svenine Eatery is a farm, restaurant, and food supplier whose goal is to supply real healthy food with as little processed inputs as possible, as transparently as possible, and in a commercially viable way that offers a genuine alternative to the unhealthy corporate food supply.
Created by Nine, a rural Thai girl who watched as her remote village's farming practices were overtaken by the ubiquitous use of chemical herbicides, hormones, and pesticides, depleting soil health and making farmers dependent on a cycle of buying corporate inputs then selling crops back to corporations for lower and lower rates. In recent years factory chicken and pig farms have crept into her rural area, as urban areas not able to contain their concentrated waste.
These practices have little interest in long-term sustainability, areas of farmland return ever reducing yields, waterways become polluted, once the land is no longer profitable the industries that caused the damage will leave to find greener pastures to corrupt.
Nine's husband, Sven, is a New-Zealander with tech experience who has a philosophy of living natural and as healthy as possible, together our primary goal is to offer a transparent supply of food that promotes health in ourselves, our customers and our community.
Located on the banks of the MaePing river in Saraphi, Chiang Mai, we have a small family restaurant that is open every day.
We offer fresh from oven meals using ingredients grown on our own farm, picked and cooked the same day offered in our restaurant.
To achieve this our method of ordering is different to other restaurants, each day we prepare limited servings of a couple of dishes, customers can reserve these servings prior to arriving or are welcome to walk in and order servings if they remain.
Many of our dishes are suitable for re-heating with some tasting better after the second cook, if we have remaining from the day before we will offer these as re-heat servings, customers can choose this option if available.
In addition most of our mains and pastries and other items we have servings frozen that can be heated on demand for customers that missed or do not want our daily oven fresh dishes.
We can also make fresh orders on request if given enough time, many of the menu items take many hours with some taking days, if you enter the detail page on our website for any item the preparation times will be shown.
Most of our menu can be delivered frozen or chilled nationwide and we can assist with re-heat instructions.
